Faculty of Information Technologies and Computer Security (FITCS) students took part in the qualifying stage of the international sports programming championship ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest). This competition is not only the oldest, but also the largest in the world, in which teams of students from all over the planet participate.
Our talented students were able to solve 8 problems each in programming languages such as C, C++, Java and Python throughout the 5-hour team competition. This is a wonderful debut in the international arena of sports programming. We wish the guys further success in sports programming.
Sports programming is an intellectual sport. This includes algorithm competitions - team (ICPC) and individual (IOI). Since 2015, the Russian AI Cup has been held - an annual artificial intelligence programming championship.
Skills acquired through programming competitions like ICPC improve career prospects by helping them pass “technical interviews,” which often require candidates to quickly solve complex programming and algorithmic problems.
