Graduate of the Faculty of Roads and Transport, current staff member of the Project Office and a Master’s Student at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Information Technology Nikita Zhidkikh won the first place at Volvo International Service Training Award (VISTA) competition, organized by Volvo Cars group of companies every two years.
Traditionally, the event is held for Volvo service market personnel but in 2010 a new category “Next Generation” for students of technical universities was introduced.
Students from all over the world completed theoretical tasks on service and settings of hybrid and electric Volvo cars, their fuel and safety systems. Theoretical issues of automobile manufacturing were also covered.
Nikita Zhidkikh won the first place among Russian students. He was awarded the VISTA Gold Medal, diploma of the winner and Volvo brand products. The grand prize for the event was a trip to the World Final and award ceremony in the company’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. The ceremony took place online in September 2021.
On September 28, during a meeting of the Academic Council of the university acting rector of VSTU Dmitry Proskurin presented Nikita with the award.
