On November 30, Voronezh State Technical University took part in an online event dedicated to joining the International Alliance of Sister Cities of Guangxi (PRC) for vocational education. It should be noted that twinning relations have been established between the Voronezh region and the Guangxi region since 1997. Both sides develop friendship, carry out exchanges and cooperation in various fields. In order to expand cooperation in vocational education between Guangxi and its sister provinces for the economic and social development of both sides, the Guangxi People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Nanning Vocational Technology College and the Guangxi Construction Polytechnic Institute jointly proposed the establishment of the Guangxi International Sister Cities Alliance for Vocational Education ( GISCA-VE), aiming to create a "twin cities + vocational education" platform to promote the synergistic development of vocational education and twinning.
To enhance cooperation on vocational education between Guangxi and its sister provinces/regions/cities and to cultivate more talents for economic and social development of both sides, the Guangxi People’s Association for friendship with Foreign Countries, Nanning College for Vocational Technology and Guangxi Polytechnic of Construction jointly propose the establishment of the Guangxi International Sister Cities Alliance on Vocational Education (GISCA-VE), aiming at building a “sister cities + vocational education” platform to facilitate synergistic development of vocational education and sister relationships.
From the Chinese side, the heads of educational institutions and the head of the Guangxi Education Department delivered a welcome speech. The Russian side was represented at the event by the head of the Department of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Voronezh Region N.V. Salogubova and Head of International Projects Department of VSTU E.F. Kiseleva. Natalya Valerievna addressed with a welcome speech to the delegates of the meeting:
– On behalf of the Department of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Voronezh Region, let me congratulate you on the creation of the International Alliance of Sister Cities of Guangxi (China) for Vocational Education. Voronezh is considered a student city. It ranks second in the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation in terms of the number of students. On the territory of the Voronezh region, 27 higher institutions and 54 secondary vocational education are successfully operating. This is more than 150 thousand students, graduate students, teachers of professional education.
Contents of Cooperation:
promotion of the resource-sharing in discipline construction, curriculum resources, talent cultivating, and teacher exchange among alliance members for improving the quality of skilled talent cultivation; to promote cultural exchanges among alliance members by organizing study tours, cultural activities, skills competitions, and academic seminars for teachers and students; to promote industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, to encourage enterprises to participate in curriculum design, teaching, and research, and to offer international internship and employment opportunities to students of alliance members. To provide intellectual support for enterprises on scientific and technological research and on-job training for employees according to the needs of enterprises.
