Institute of International Education welcomes new students

On September 17, Voronezh State Technical University held an annual Welcome Day for new international students. This year the event took place at Voronezh Canoe and Kayak Centre and was attended by more than 100 students. In total, 250 international students successfully passed entrance exams and were enrolled at VSTU.

On behalf of VSTU administration Anton Khodunov, Vise Rector for Student Affairs of VSTU, congratulated first year students:

“Congratulations on the beginning of student life at VSTU. I am sure you won’t regret your choice, our university has created all the necessary conditions for education and personal development. I hope your student years will bring you not only knowledge, but also good memories, meetings with new friends and interesting people.

Vice-rector for International Affairs Igor Mazurenko joined Anton Khodunov in congratulations. He expressed the hope that Voronezh will become a second home for students. Rector's Advisor Vladimir Kadurin also congratulated participants. With his help, the event was organized at Voronezh Canoe and Kayak Centre, one of the most modern and equipped sports facilities of the city.

The festivities were opened by Valeria Budko, director of VSTU Institute of International Education, and Alexey Shulgin, deputy director, who warmly welcomed first year students. Orientation program was prepared by VSTU students' union, the Department of Education and Youth Policy and the Institute of International Education. Throughout the day freshmen participated in various activities, during which they learned more about the city and our university - its history, structure, activities and much more. It should be noted that VSTU students’ union also provided on-site catering for all participants. 

The event lasted until the evening and was an experience participants described as unforgettable.
