Radugin A.A.

Aleksey Alekseevich Radugin (born March 28, 1943, Verkhne-Ogorodnichevo village, Svislach district, Grodno region, BSSR, USSR) is a Soviet and Russian religious scholar and philosopher, a specialist in religious studies and the history of philosophy. Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, Professor. Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

In 1967 he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

In 1972, he completed his postgraduate studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University and, under the scientific supervision of M.P. Novikov, defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Philosophy on the topic “Neo-Augustinism as a variety of Catholic philosophy” (Specialty 09.00.06 “Scientific atheism, history of religion” and atheism).

In 1987 he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the topic “Modern Catholic Irrationalism. (Critical analysis of the methodology of the main philosophical schools)" (Specialty 09.00.06 "Scientific atheism, history of religion and atheism").

Professor and Head (until 2014) of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and History of the Voronezh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Since 2016 - Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Sociology and History of the Voronezh State Technical University. Member of the International Academy of Sciences of Higher Education.

A. A. Radugin paid the greatest attention in his scientific activity to the methodological issues of Christian philosophy and theology. He substantiated the provisions on irrationalism, which is the methodological basis of all Christian philosophy and theology.

A.A. Radugin revealed the originality of religious-philosophical irrationalism, and also showed that religious irrationalism contains institutional-intellectualist and anti-intellectualist tendencies. In addition, he identified the basic principles of religious and philosophical thinking: supranaturalism, soteriologism, revolutionism and revealed their essence. A.A. Radugin showed how the irrational attitudes of Christian philosophy are reflected in the ontology, epistemology, anthropology and philosophy of history of various schools and movements.

Considerable attention of A.A. Radugin devotes to the development of teaching aids in the subjects of the humanitarian cycle.
