The international student engineering and sports festival Formula Student Russia 2022 has ended in Moscow. The engineering and racing team of the Voronezh State Technical University "VoRTechs FS Team" was awarded a certificate of the finalist in the nomination "Creating the best digital twin of a Formula Student racing car." The nomination was carried out by the Department of Digital Transformation of Mechanical Engineering of LANIT JSC, the largest group of IT companies in Russia.
Participants of the nomination - 7 teams from 6 technical universities of the country - presented to the panel of judges their methods for creating digital twins of "formula" cars, sets of software systems used, examples of calculations and virtual simulations of cars. All teams also received from the judges a list of recommendations for improving design processes.
Nikita Zhidkikh, captain of the VoRTechs FS Team engineering and racing team of VSTU, shared his impressions and future plans:
- We are pleased to announce our successful performance in the LANIT nomination. Expertise in design processes at such a high level by industry professionals has already helped our team improve the quality of the digital twin - we have implemented full model parameterization and are working on setting up the PDM system. The VoRTechs FS student team is progressing every day, performing the most complex and interesting engineering tasks. And thanks to the feedback from the judges of the nomination, we are now a few steps closer to building our first car, with which we hope to compete in the 2023 season.
