VSTU hosted the VII all-Russian research projects competition among schools with the support of scientists from the International Association of Construction Universities "ODARMOL". In 2020, the Admission Center of the Flagship university held the regional stage of the online conference with the motto "Young researchers of the Chernozem region-2020". More than 200 participants from 18 schools in Voronezh and the Voronezh region, as well as Belgorod, took part in the research work. Students presented their projects in five sections: “Informatics and Information Technologies”, “Architecture and Construction”, “Human Sciences", “Natural Sciences” (Chemistry, Physics, and Geology). More than 30 VSTU scientists acted as scientific consultants, and 19 representatives of the University were included in a jury panel of the competition.
A total of 67 participants received diplomas of winners. Their projects were submitted to the final stage of the VII all-Russian competition of research projects competition among schools with the support of scientists from the International Association of Construction Universities. Award winning projects of the regional stage of the competition will be published in an essay collection "Scientific potential of the Voronezh region". All participants of the competition, teaching staff and scientific consultants received letters of appreciation and certificates of participation.
The International Association of Construction Universities (ACU) unites more than a hundred of construction universities and institutes in Russia and the CIS countries. In 2013 it formed the ACU Coordinating Council for working with gifted students and also created the organizational, methodological and infocommunication system "ODARMOL”. Voronezh State Technical University has become one of the most active universities participating in the activities of the ACU Coordinating Council and the “ODARMOL” system.
Since 2013, VSTU Admission Center has been holding the regional stage of the conference for research projects competition among schools with the support of scientists from the International Association of Construction Universities. Students are offered more than 800 topics of individual research projects, on which VSTU scientists provide face-to-face and remote scientific consulting in cooperation with teachers. Over the entire period of work, more than 1000 talented students of various ages from 60 schools in the Central Chernozem region were identified, and their individual projects were successfully presented at the regional and all-Russian stages of the conference.
