The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation continues to analyze implementation strategies of successful projects at Russian universities. The information is published regularly on the official website of the ministry.
On May 16, the press center of Minobrnauki published an article “Barrier-free sport”. It gives an overview of successful practices of sport infrastructure development, including accessible sport facilities and takes a look at a specialized program of VSTU on development of sport infrastructure at the university and dormitory buildings.
One of the dormitories has a health and fitness center with a swimming pool. The university plans to build one more sports complex for 3,000 people open all year round. “The challenge for an educational organization is to develop a wide range of activities in order to involve students into different aspects of student life, including sport. Personal example is also very important. That’s why we hold joint competitions between academic personnel and students as well as physical exercises with the Rector. It has an amazing effect,” says Vice-rector for student affairs Anton Khodunov.
