VSTU student became a member of the educational project of the Rosatom State Corporation

Between 3 and 8 December, the Rosatom Corporate Academy held a project shift "Sustainable ON" at the Sirius Educational Center in Sochi. More than 800 people made queries describing their projects to participate in the program, which is aimed at achievement of objectives sustainable development of UN. 70 students-authors of the best works from 13 partner countries of Rosatom participated in the event, including a 5th-year student at the Institute of International Education of VSTU Musonda Joseph (Zambia). 

During the week, the project shift participants worked on the goals of the program "Transforming our world: the 2030 agenda for sustainable development", adopted by the United Nations at the General Assembly in 2015. The program contains 17 goals for international cooperation, including the elimination of poverty and hunger, ensuring a healthy lifestyle and quality education, gender equality, environmental security, and reasonable consumption.

Visionary lectures with the best industry experts on the topic of sustainable development were organized for the participants of the shift. One of the most memorable events was a meeting with the Head of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, who told the students about the importance of developing nuclear energy for the world economy. He also stressed the importance of attracting foreign students to educational projects in the industry. At the end of the lecture, the shift participants asked questions about Rosatom's cooperation with partner countries, nuclear energy safety, and employment of foreign students in the Russian nuclear industry. The students demonstrated their readiness for international cooperation and their interest in developing projects aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of their countries.

The students also took part in a business game to develop project competencies, visited Krasnaya Polyana and tested their knowledge during the quiz. The evening of Russian cuisine introduced foreign students to the customs and traditions of our country.
