On December 10 to 13 Voronezh State Technical University hosted the XX International Scientific Conference “Energy Management of Municipal Facilities and Sustainable Energy Technologies” EMMFT 2018, organized by VSTU’s Center for Development of the Talented Youth and Department of Economics and Basics of Business.

The conference attendees are specialists from Russia, Italy, Germany, Serbia, Slovenia, Azerbaijan, etc. Researchers representing the most advanced branches of civil engineering gathered together to share their experience of scientific research, develop academic relationships with the leading researchers of the European Union and create a positive environment for implementing joint projects. Due to great interest in the event in the world scientific community, the conference is held at Samara State Technical University at the same time.

“The main topics of the conference are related to different aspects of energy efficiency and management of such processes during construction and further operation”, said VSTU vice-rector for science Igor Drozdov. “When we talk about new objects, such issues can be effectively resolved on the design and early construction stages. However, when it comes to an “old city”, municipal residential buildings and objects, you cannot re-build them, only renovate during an overall repair. I hope we’ll be able to not only find effective energy management technologies but to discuss serious problems that put the brakes on economic development”.

The first-day plenary meeting of the conference introduced reports on digitalization of object management processes in Voronezh region, development and analysis of distributed photovoltaic systems, place and role of regional agencies in energy consumption management of residential buildings construction and operation processes. Then work was divided in two sections: ‘Civil Engineering” and “Economics”.

The conference program included workshops, round-table sessions, visits to research laboratories and centers of Voronezh State Technical University.
